Security Testing

Authorized Security Testing

Controlled security assessments performed under documented authorization.

Testing answers a question a configuration review cannot: not whether a weakness exists, but whether it can actually be used. PhoenoSec performs that work under explicit written authorization, within an agreed scope, with defined rules of engagement.

Authorization comes first

No testing begins without written authorization from a party with the standing to grant it, an agreed scope, a testing window, named points of contact and documented rules of engagement. Where systems are hosted or operated by a third party, provider authorization is confirmed before work starts.

  • Written authorization and signed rules of engagement
  • Explicit in-scope and out-of-scope asset lists
  • Agreed testing windows and escalation contacts
  • Third-party and cloud provider authorization where required

Testing that reflects real exposure

Testing is scoped to the pathways that matter for your organization: what an unauthenticated attacker can reach from the internet, what a compromised employee account could do, what a guest on your wireless network can touch, and whether your existing controls would notice.

  • External attack-surface enumeration and exploitation of validated findings
  • Internal assessment simulating a foothold on the network
  • Web application testing against authenticated and unauthenticated paths
  • Wireless, segmentation and network access control validation

Findings you can act on

Each finding is reproduced, evidenced and rated for real business impact, with remediation guidance specific to your platforms. Retesting confirms that fixes actually closed the issue.

  • Reproduction steps and evidence for every finding
  • Business-impact-weighted severity, not raw CVSS
  • Platform-specific remediation guidance
  • Retest of remediated findings included

How engagements work

A process built to end in decisions, not documents

Every PhoenoSec engagement follows the same four movements, scaled to the size of the work.

  1. 01

    Understand

Learn the organization, technology environment, business requirements, threats, and constraints.

  2. 02

    Assess

Evaluate the relevant infrastructure, controls, architecture, processes, and security exposure.

  3. 03

    Prioritize

Separate critical issues from lower-risk findings and create a practical remediation roadmap.

  4. 04

    Improve

Help implement, validate, and mature the organization's security program.
